Club History
The Kent County Gun Club was founded by a group of hunters and
sportsmen in the 1940's. The original members included Ike Covey, George Kennedy, Earle Cooper, Arthur
Pinder, Henry Gsell, and Tom Brockson.
It was started in Kennedyville with the men shooting behind George
Kennedy's garage. As time went on and the club became more
popular, it moved to a location near Morgnec for a while before the
club was able to purchase its current property in 1948.
The original Chestertown property included two trap fields and one skeet field. The skeet field is no longer in service.
Ike Covey is the only surviving member of the original members, and he is still going strong at 92 years old.
