The 28 Yard Line

Update 7/5/08

Delaware State Shoot

The Delaware State Shoot was held on May 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27th at Millington, MD.  Several KCGC members posted some impressive scores and won a few trophies along the way.

Congratulations to:

Craig Ginn - Winner of the Preliminary Handicap event, 22/23 yard Open trophy with a score of 91x100.

Jay Faulkner - Delaware Singles Champion Runner-up - with a score of 197x200.  Jay will shoot in the
Champion of Champions event at the Grand American in Sparta, Illinois in August representing Delaware.

Richard "Woodie" Woodward - Delaware Resident Doubles Sub-Junior category Champion.
Richard "Woodie" Woodward - Delaware Handicap Open category Sub Junior Champion for his yardage group.
Woodie is a good example of the future of this sport.  As a Delaware resident and a member of the KCGC and the Kent County Clay Crushers 4-H team, he has developed the skills and sportsmanship necessary to compete in tournaments at the State level, and will continue to grow and become a top competitor.  We wish Woodie well in future competitions.

Joe Jordan - Joe shot a very impressive 91x100 in the Senior Veteran Handicap event, and was tied for high gun
in the Senior Veteran category.  Joe missed the shootoff, but we at KCGC are confident that Joe would have won the event had he not fallen asleep... I mean left before the shootoff started.  Very good shooting, Joe.

Also, Congratulations to our good friend Charlie Morris of Seaford, DE.  Charlie is a good friend of the KCGC, and we were pleased that Charlie won Resident Runner-up in the Handicap Championship.

New Jersey State Shoot

The New Jersey State shoot was held May 29 through June 1 at Indian Mills, NJ.
Congratulations to:

Bob Kozur - Winner of the Doubles Champion, Class B Open trophy with a score of 94x100.  This is the second year that Bob has brought a trophy home from New Jersey.

Maryland State Shoot

The Maryland State Shoot was held June 25 through June 29 at the homegrounds in Millington, MD.  Attendance appeared to be higher than last year's shoot, a pleasant surprise given the condition of the economy.

Bob Kozur - Maryland Resident B class Singles Champion with a score of 197x200.  Bob broke his first 100 straight in a squad with the legendary Kaye Ohye and daughter Debbie Ohye-Nelson.

Bob Kozur - High All Around B class Open Champion.

Jack Clark - Maryland Resident Handicap 5th place.
